Types of hair loss

There are several types of hair loss, each with its own causes and characteristics. Here are some common types of hair loss:

  1. Androgenetic Alopecia (Male/Female Pattern Baldness): This is the most common type of hair loss, characterized by a gradual thinning of hair over time. 
  2. Telogen Effluvium: This type of hair loss occurs when there is a disruption in the hair growth cycle, causing more hair follicles to enter the resting (telogen) phase. 
  3. Alopecia Areata: This is an autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, leading to patchy hair loss.
  4. Traction Alopecia: This type of hair loss is caused by constant pulling or tension on the hair follicles.
  5. Trichotillomania: Trichotillomania is a psychological disorder characterized by the irresistible urge to pull out one’s hair, often resulting in patchy hair loss.
  6. Medical Treatments-Induced Hair Loss: Certain medical treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy, can cause temporary hair loss. 
  7. Scarring Alopecia: Scarring alopecia refers to a group of hair loss disorders where there is permanent damage to the hair follicles, resulting in scar tissue formation.

Causes Of Hair Loss
